What Is Natural Kratom?
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tropical tree in the coffee family (Rubiaceae) native to Southeast Asia. Where Does Kratom Come From?
The majority of commercially available kratom is sourced from Indonesia, particularly from the islands of Borneo (Kalimantan), Sumatra, and Java. Kratom trees thrive in the humid, tropical climate of the region and are typically harvested by hand. Leaf color at harvest — red, green, or white vein — reflects the maturity of the leaf and influences the alkaloid profile of the finished product.
