What is Kratom?

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tropical tree from the coffee family. It contains properties that range from stimulant-like, energizing and uplifting, to drowsiness and euphoria - depending on the strain.
Traditionally, Kratom was mostly used as a stimulant by Thai and Malaysian laborers and farmers to overcome the burdens of hard work. They chewed the leaves to make them work harder and provide energy and relief. Today, Kratom is used for similar reasons on a much larger scale.
